The Problem

Finding clothes that fit is something that many struggle with, which affects confidence, textile waste, and encourages fast fashion. In addition, clothing sizes have been very tricky to understand since different brands use different measurements.

Goals:

Educate the user
Provide solutions that are familiar
Make the buying process easier

How might we facilitate the shopping experience so that users can find clothes that fit?

Process

Research

I interviewed a few individuals about their experience shopping for new clothes. I wanted to get a baseline of the current experience.

Interviews

I synthesized the responses into 3 categories, and from the insights, I noticed that both in-person and online shopping had their own strengths.

Some preferred in-person because they could try it on while some liked the convenience of shopping online.

Final Design

Questionnaire

This option was adapted from other clothing sites; it asks questions based on clothing that you already own and fit you well. From this, it generates an estimated size for you based on its database.

My Size

This option takes you straight to the marketplace where you will be taken in a walkthrough on where to input your size if you already know it.

From there the marketplace will generate clothing pieces that match those measurements.

Key Takeaways

I would incorporate user testing throughout the entire process because there were decisions I had to make based on analysis from the interviews and thinking in the shoes of the user. For the next steps, I would test the final product and get feedback from users.
